Common Questions You Ask Us...!

How is the number of blades in a saw determined?

The number of blades is determined based on the maximum width of the stone slab that the saw is designed to cut. A larger blade frame opening allows for cutting wider stones, and the number of blades within this opening is determined by the thickness of the slab. Both the number of blades and their spacing must be considered simultaneously. However, it should be noted that increasing the number of blades also increases the power consumption of the saw. Therefore, the number of blades must be considered in the motor power calculations, otherwise the cutting speed will decrease and put pressure on the main motor.

In single-piston saws, because the piston is located in the center of the saw, the stone slab must be placed exactly in the center of the blades to prevent twisting forces on the blade frame. If the slab is placed to one side, the frame may deviate. In double-piston saws, the slab can be placed anywhere within the blade frame. This type of saw is better at transferring the reciprocating motion to the blade frame and guiding the frame in a straight path. In single-piston saws, all the cutting force is applied to a single piston and then to the main bearing, so the bearing’s concrete support is under more stress and is more likely to crack than in double-piston saws.

The choice of cutting technology can vary depending on the type of stone. Multi-wire saws are used for hard stones like granite, while stone saws are used for softer stones like marble. However, with advancements in technology, soft stones can now be cut with multi-wire saws, but this has limitations and higher cutting costs compared to other methods. Working with a saw is easier than working with a multi-wire saw. The minimum cutting thickness in multi-wire saws is 4.3 mm, depending on the wire diameter and diamond, while in saws, a minimum cutting thickness of 2.5 mm is possible. Cutting with a multi-wire saw causes less shock and stress to the stone compared to a saw. The quality of the cut surface with a saw is much higher than with a multi-wire saw, so the processing costs in subsequent stages, such as resin consumption and sanding pads, are lower.

The main difference between these two machines is the cutting thickness and depth. A single-blade gang saw has more freedom in determining the cutting thickness, but in a 30-blade gang saw, changing the thickness requires changing the shims between the blades. It should be noted that the amount of stone produced in a shift is the same for both machines.
Avoiding damage to the slab, resulting in a healthier slab and faster turning speed, controlling side hazards for operators and reducing accidents, occupying less space for turning the slab, maintaining the health of the crane and reducing repair costs, ease of use of the machine and reduced replacement costs of the sling.

Although both machines are used for sanding stone, they differ structurally. In stone tiles, sanding heads with pneumatic jacks sit on the stone and perform the sanding operation, while in calibration heads, the height of the diamond-coated plate is fixed and the thickness of the stone is made uniform and equal.

Yes, by changing the clamps, hydrotensioners, and spacers between the blades, it is possible to cut stone up to 12 millimeters thick.

The type of stone used, the quality of the machines, the ease of use of the machines, the use of standard equipment available in the market in the machinery, a machine with up-to-date technology and suitable and timely after-sales service.

The hardness of the soil at the desired location, the excavation dimensions according to the soil conditions of the environment, the matching size and number of reinforcement bars with the provided drawing, the implementation of foam next to the outer walls of the foundation, the concrete grade and its sampling, a skilled and experienced contractor, proper excavation according to the drawing, the method of formwork and checking the dimensions of the final formwork, and preventing water leakage under the foundation to prevent foundation settlement.
